PAST

Beyond the Veil

The ideas of death and what occurs after are topics that have drawn fascination, confusion and even fear in many cultures. Nobody knows exactly what will happen after one passes on and such uncertainty has invited diverse speculation and spiritual beliefs. The rapid embracement of popular culture, mass media, technology and digitalism in recent years have brought about new ways of looking at death and the afterlife, as our imagination is expanded by the limitless possibilities that these various media offer.

Challenging traditional views on subjects surrounding and beyond death, Beyond the Veil brings together four contemporary artists that explore the unsettling topic through various imaginings as inspired by current situations with the use of new media and interdisciplinary approaches.
