Seven monks have been invited to give blessings. These monks represent commonality in diversity. They come from major schools of Buddhism – Theravada, Mahayana, and Vajrayana. They are also of different ethnicities – Chinese, Thai, Burmese, Sinhalese, and Tibetan.
2. Vesak Day Procession & Launch of Buddhist Trail, 10.15am
The monks will embark on a procession around Haw Par Villa, following a route taking them to significant Buddhist elements in the park, such as statues of Buddhas and Guan Yin (Avalokiteshvara).
