About the Museum
Specially curated displays provide comparative insights that will give visitors a better understanding of the commonalities across the world’s major belief systems – and how different communities around the world, as well as in Singapore, draw meaning from death and dying.
Stretched over 3,800 sqm, Hell’s Museum also provides a deeper understanding of Haw Par Villa’s infamous 10 Courts of Hell.
Discover how concepts behind the graphic representations of sins and punishments in the afterlife evolved as ancient civilisations shared their cultures across time and space.
Visit us for an eye-opening experience and have a hell of a time!

This is more of the after life, different religions believe tell what to them happens when we die, they have a free tour guide , Michelle was very good at telling the story, very interesting you can learn a lot from it .
August 21, 2024The video, exhibits and docent are all very informative and interesting. Michelle is a marvellous guide. Delighted to visit this museum and the villa to see what has been gone in Hong Kong’s Haw Par Villa (which only the mansion is left). Recommend people of all ages to spend time there. It’s also very conveniently located right outside MRT station.
August 4, 2024Very interesting explanations about religious myths about the afterlife all around the world, but focusing mostly on Taoism and Buddhism. Great, unsettling dioramas which were a little too much for our ten year-old daughter. Our guide Paul was very knowledgeable and really nice! I would DEFINITELY recommend to people interested in learning more about afterlife myths. There’s the Haw Par villa to visit right by too!

Really interesting experience at Hells museum! Definitely worth the money to visit and explore. We really enjoyed the free guided tour with Paul who offered a fantastic insight into the heritage of the museum, the meanings of the different stations and taught us about different religions traditional burials, funerals and belief systems around death and the afterlife.
July 4, 2024We booked a return ticket to Hell today. We expected horror but actually encountered a wonderful museum, and a great tour guide. Definitely more than worth making the effort. I'd say: go to hell (and back).
July 4, 2024If you're interested in questioning your religious trauma and addressing questions about theology this is the place for you. An excellent set of displays and depictions that are not for the faint of heart
