Watch the coming together of Buddhism and art through the creation of a Chenrezig Sand Mandala by Buddhist monks from India.
From 11 – 17 June, this sand mandala will be constructed as the residential palace of Chenrezig (popularly known as Guan Yin), the Bodhisattva of Compassion. It will be open for viewing from 12 to 20 June at the Rise of Asia Museum (RoAM) in Haw Par Villa.
Mandalas constructed from millions of grains of coloured sand are unique to Buddhism, and are believed to effect purification and healing.

What you're in for:
- View the making of the sand mandala using traditional metal funnels (chak-pur)
- Witness traditional Buddhist chanting, meditation and rituals
- Visit a mini exhibition and learn about Chenrezig (also known as Guan Yin or Avalokiteshvara) and the meaning behind mandalas
- Blessing sessions for the public by the Buddhist monks
